EDUCATION
EDUCATION - ‘Knowledge is Power. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family (Kofi Annan). Almost 50% of children in Haiti never have the opportunity to attend elementary school and less than 90% of children that do attend school never finish high school often because their parents cannot afford the minimal fee, the children must work to help support the family, or they live too far from a school. HTH has been working in the village of Jeandenis for the past 10 years, focusing on education for adults and children. HTH provides literacy classes for adults, computer classes for youth and adults, and most recently health education for children in school.
INFRASTRUCTURE
INFRASTRUCTURE - In 2009, HTH built a concrete, vehicular bridge, greatly increasing the potential for the people to attend church, school, and the local well for their daily water supply. In 2012 HTH built latrines for the old Notre Dame Grade School and in 2013 a community center was completed, providing a place for meetings, seminars, social gatherings and computer classes.

PROJECTS
PROJECTS - The exquisite Notre Dame du Fatima Grade School was completed in early 2018. This striking structure will provide education for 500+ students in grades K – 6thgrade. Enclosed by a security wall, it provides spacious rooms, hygienic toilets, windows that allow for ventilation and light, and solar-powered energy that provides all the power for the school, including the 36-student computer lab which will be used for both children in the grade school and for adult education.
